A wooden knife inspired by a feather personally found at the grounds of the National Art School in Sydney. The feather was visually abstracted to produce the final shape of the object, and so too the lightness of a feather is also mimicked in the knife.
The Feather Knife is made in Tasmanian Blackwood (a tree species found on the east coast of Australia). The wood was cut into measured blocks before being hand-shaped using various sanders. The knife can be used as a cutting utensil or a display knife.
