Dymocks' flagship store wanted in-store wayfinders to help customers easily find their favorite books. With a diverse customer base ranging from avid readers to casual shoppers, our goal was to design a solution that was both intuitive and accessible to all.

Research & Prototyping
To create an effective wayfinding system, we began with user research to identify common navigation challenges within the store. By mapping customer journeys, we pinpointed key decision points and strategically optimised the placement of wayfinding elements. I ensured accessibility by incorporating factors such as font size and colour contrast in compliance with W3C standards.
The final design featured clear, visually distinct signage that not only aligned with Dymocks' brand identity but also prioritised readability, ensuring an intuitive in-store browsing experience for all customers. We developed an intuitive, user-focused wayfinder that catered to all age groups, making in-store navigation effortless for everyone.

Design & Usability Testing
The wayfinder was carefully crafted to be visually clear, easy to navigate, and responsive to different user needs. Whether a customer was looking for a specific genre, author, or title, the system provided quick, clear directions to guide them through the store.

Final outcome
The result was a more enjoyable shopping experience, allowing customers to spend less time searching and more time discovering the books they loved. The new wayfinding system significantly improved the in-store browsing experience, making it easier for customers to locate books efficiently. The improved navigation flow contributed to a seamless shopping experience, reinforcing Dymocks’ reputation as a customer-centric bookstore.
Ultimately, the wayfinder transformed the in-store browsing experience, reducing frustration and helping customers find their favourite books with ease.
