Kennards Self Storage proudly stands as the largest self-storage operator in Australia. The dedicated KSS team strives to deliver an exceptional storage experience to every customer. They set out to bring their brand together online and make booking storage simple. Their vision was a modern, high-conversion eCommerce website that reflects their pride in what they do and helps customers find exactly what they need.
Defining the Visual Vocabulary
The basic square and rectangle shapes, symbolising volume and, in this case, storage, served as the central theme for the brand’s styling. This concept was carried through to the website design, influencing everything from image proportions to button styles and icons. Generous amounts of white space around these shapes helped draw attention to key components, creating a modern and visually clear identity.   
Collaborative teamwork combined with human-centered design
To begin the project, we held a hands-on, collaborative sessions with the Kennards team. This allowed us to gain a deeper understanding of the company’s technologies and customer service strategies, as well as their goals for future growth in areas like the digital space. With Kennards' strong focus on data gathering, and our research, we discovered numerous opportunities to improve user experience and design, as well as streamline crucial business processes such as Storage Options, Location Choices, and Booking Reservations, with feedback integrated into the booking fulfillment process.

Kennards Self Storage helps all of their customers navigate the various options and considerations associated with purchasing storage space, taking into account their needs, life transitions, storage size, and other characteristics of storage solutions. 
We recognised the need of mirroring this customer experience sense in the online experience, allowing customers to effortlessly browse, shortlist options, and complete their storage reservation with ease.
A simple answer
The Kennards Self Storage website is a robust, scalable, and successful platform by every measure. The project was a pleasure to work on and significantly expanded my knowledge of large-scale online experiences. It also provided an opportunity to further develop my visual language, UX/UI skills, and management abilities, and I truly enjoyed the process.
